What to Know Before You Hang Curtains in Sharjah
Start with the geometry, because it costs nothing to get right. Fix the rail ten to fifteen centimetres above the window and let it run fifteen to twenty centimetres past each side. In an open plan that just looks better; in a Sharjah flat it does something more useful, because the light that gives you away at night escapes down the sides of a curtain that stops at the frame. The overlap is the privacy.
Then decide the layers, and understand why one is never enough here. A sheer only screens you while the outside is brighter than the inside — that is the whole trick.
